Please note that the admission quota does not accommodate domestic students.

Note: In case of registration cancellation due to personal reasons, tuition will be refunded, and admission will be revoked.


3. Eligibility

  • 1) Graduates or candidates expecting to graduate by February 2024 from accredited universities, either within Korea or overseas.
  • 2) Individuals whose academic credentials are recognized as equivalent to or higher than a bachelor's degree, as per relevant laws.
  • 3) Pure Foreigners:
    Both the applicant and his or her parents must be native citizens of a foreign country (non-Korean citizens) who have completed an education equivalent to 16 years of elementary, middle, and higher education (including university), either within the country or overseas, and must be on track to graduate with a bachelor’s degree by August 2024.
    ■ Nationality criteria are based on the date of application submission.
    ■ Applicant and his or her parents must both be non-Korean citizens (Korean national with dual citizenship is ineligible for English admission track).

* Bachelor's Degree Diploma
* Official Transcript from Bachelor’s Program
* Graduation certificate and grade certificate are mandatory documents for admission evaluation. Up to the application deadline issue (including online issuance) is accepted.
* Any Academic Degree Certificate has to be officially “certified” by the Korean Consulate and be sealed by “apostilled” or the Korean Embassy (Consulate General) in the country where the graduated university is located.

7 Photocopy of Alien Registration Card * Required only for those who have been issued this card by Korea’s Ministry of Justice

* Certificate of renunciation of Korean nationality (Korean descent applicant & both parents)
10 Certificate of Family Relationship for Korean-born Foreign Applicants * Only Needed to verify family ties, exclusively for foreign-born Korean applicants)
11 English test score (TOEFL, IELTS or other comparable internationally accepted English test scores)) * English test score taken within last 2 years. Those who have English score above 530 in TOEFL PBT, 197 in TOEFL CBT, 71 in TOEFL iBT, 5.5 in IELTS, B2 in CEFR, 600 in TEPS(234 in New TEPS)
※ If the applicants’ country uses English as mother tongue or an official language, applicants can substitute certificate of higher education with English as a medium of instruction for official language score.
  • ※ Submission of Original Documents (After completing the online application, you are required to send the original copies of your documents either by mail or by delivering them in person.
  • ※ Verification for Overseas Degrees: For degrees from Apostille Convention countries: You must submit an Apostille Certificate issued by the country where the university is located. For degrees from Non-Apostille countries: Submit a Consular Confirmation from a Republic of Korea Embassy or Consulate. Please submit documents issued within the last 2 years.
    For Chinese degrees: Submit a verification report either from the China Higher Education Qualification Verification (中國高等敎育學歷査洵報告, http://www.chsi.com.cn) or the China Academic Degrees and Graduate Education Development Center (敎育部學位與硏究生敎育發展中心, http://www.cdgdc.edu.cn).
  • ※ For Pending Graduates: If you are anticipated to graduate soon, your graduation certificate needs to be submitted to the academic administration team by February 23, 2024. Failure to do so may lead to the cancellation of your admission.
  • ※ Exemption from English Proficiency Test Scores: Applicants from certain countries are exempt from submitting official English language proficiency scores. These countries include, but are not limited to:

5. Instructions for Applicants

  • Inquiries: Should you have any questions regarding admissions, please contact the Academic Administration Team at the Hallym University of Graduate Studies by sending e-mail(hugs@hallym.ac.kr).
  • Submission Deadline: All applications and required original documents must be received by 3:00 PM on the final submission day to be valid.
  • Document Submission: Once submitted, documents cannot be altered or amended. Be aware that neither the application fee nor any documents submitted will be refunded.
  • Admission Revocation: Admission will be revoked if it is later found that it was obtained through falsified information or through any form of fraudulent activities.
